Palmer Stone Elementary School Reviews

I observe at Palmer Stone while I am in college to become a teacher. I have noticed nothing but great things from the faculty and administration. The second grade program is great, and would recommend this school to all parents

I have 3 children that have and are attending palmer stone elementary school. I can say that every teacher that we've had has been very caring and a great teacher to my kids. True there are many things about the school that could be addressed and changed for the better, but the school is one of the oldest and I don't think the school board has it on the top of the list for improvements. Mr. Wilkins does try his best to better the school. He just runs into many blocks with the board. The school lunch room is a big problem and there doesn't seem to be an answer at this time other than ripping down the school and building a new one.

This is my daugthers second year attending Palmer Stone. She thinks her teacher and first grade are 'awesome'! She has already learned a great deal and is only in the second month of this school year. Palmer Stone is great!

My daughter has been unhappy since she started this school in 2004. The teachers are very unfriendly and seem inexperienced. We are currently looking to sell our home just because we want her to attend a different school. This is the worst school that I have ever dealt with. My daughter Loved school until she started Palmer Stone. Thanks Palmer Stone!

My son (sadly) has been to 3 different elementary schools since he started Kindergarten, he is now in the 5th grade. Palmer Stone is by far the worst school that he has been to. The teachers and the school in a whole are very unfriendly, uncoordinated and inexperienced. Had he been attending this school from the start there is no doubt that he would be behind. I feel since he started Palmer Stone two years ago that he has fallen behind and has gotten to the point where he just hates going to school.

Palmer Stone is an excellent school! The teachers and administrators are very helpful and want all of their students to succeed!

My daughter is currently attending Kindergarten at this school. I am AMAZED at how much she has learned. Going in, I did not cosider my daughter to be very advanced--I expected her to be an average student. She started reading almost immediately. She is happy and thriving. The experience has gone way beyond my expectations. My only concern is that no other teacher will live up to Ms. Ballard. She is SUPER! Don't hesitate to send your child to this wonderful school. The principal is 'no-nonsense' and keeps things in check. There is also tons of parental involvement.

Excellent school for elementary education in a great school system. Have had two daughters there who excelled - one in middle school now who made a great transition because she was so well prepared at Palmer-Stone.

Palmer Stone Elementary School is, from my experience, an excellent place for children to learn and grow. The Teaching staff is incredible and the art program is well rounded and headed by a very enthusiastic professional. Palmer Stone offers a Quest class on a weekly basis for it's gifted students and has many after school programs to offer it's students. The level of parental involvement is positively fantastic. The PTA is an active and effective comittee dedicated to doing the absolute best for the children at Palmer Stone.

My nephew has attended Palmer Stone Elementary School for 4 years, beginning in Pre-K and now enrolled as a second grader. He has received excellent instruction in reading and math. His Pre-K and K years, those formative years when children learn those skills needed to read, were high-quality. He reads well above grade level and I credit those fine teachers. They surely know the five components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension and fluency. When asked if he likes school, his reply has always been the same...a resounding yes. I am expecting great things in the future.

My children have been attending Palmer-Stone for the last six years. Although it is still a good school, and has great teachers, it has neglected to provide field trips and arts programs for the children. I feel the Principal has washed his hands of providing any social activities at the school.
