Bear Creek Middle School Reviews

This school is just as good as any all black school in Fulton County. If we, the parents would focus more on our kids, the schools would improve! I've also noticed lack of parent participation at PTA.

I'm a student at bearcreek & our principal Mr.franklin is strick but fair. he dose not let us let our pants hang down & we have to tuck in our shirts. we have only had 7 fights in 7 months.

It's horrible-too many kids at the school

Bear Creek Is a nice school, the pincipal is a leader and he don't play with all the fighten, and ISS. But some student need a ring check and teacher too. Other Then that the school is a nice environment! X-TEAM

This school has a very low morale among the teachers. What happen to teachers and parents communicating to each other.

Bear Creek is the worst ever. The administrative staff should be ashamed of how they are running the school.

My child is a new student and if I didn't move into the area, he would have ended up at Lindley in Cobb county. I have worked in a couple of middle schools as a sub and I can honestly say these kids aren't only a terror at Bear Creek , some schools have far worst. We are dealing with a new generation and its scary. My son likes the school but admits that the kids are too bad. Parents should be held accountable not the teachers, they aren't superheros. Their jobs aren't as easy as it looks. Parents need to get it together, the song 'Children are the future' depresses me.

I recently moved down in union city, Ga from chicago,il. It was a big change. But bearcreek really helped me get to know alot about where everything is. I never had a soccer team or a tennis team where i was from. Not only was it fun and sociallly equipt for us students but it was a new building and the teachers were nice. Our principal Dr. D is very nice and understanding..plus she gives second chances. It has a 'chance' program. The reson why its called chance is because it gives students second chances to realize that they are blessed to be at Bear Creek Middle School. They also reward you on your success, improvement, academics and athletisism. On top of that we also have GREAT counselors that real and truely care for everyone. Mr.Horton is my personal favorite. I love Bear Creek. It the best school in Georgia!

I currently have two sons at Bear Creek Middle School. I really think this is not a challenging school. I must agree that the kids are unruly, but that is seen in a lot of the schools. I have had to contact the teachers on several occasions and request that my kids are given homework more often. I work with them at home on a daily basis and my kids are both honor roll students, but I am wandering if this school is maybe too slow for them and if so, why aren't they chosen for the gifted program. This is their last year attending this school because I am doing everything within means to prepare them for a brighter future. If you would like for your child to be just an average child, by all means, send them here.

Bear Creek is one of the finest schools Fulton county has! My daughter was a sixth grader and last year and made straight 'A''s the entire school year. The motivation is excellent, the teachers really care about our children and the principal is outstanding. This puts great emphasis on learning specifically science, math and technology. The 7th grade Lang Arts teacher Mr. Cheffen took this school and county to the 1st place spot in the technology fair for the county and the state position! This school receives five stars!

I believe that this school has gone down hill ever since Dr. 'D' has become the principal. I am a former student and I currently attend Law School. I have a brother that is a current student at Bear Creek and I can see how the quality of the education has deteriorated over the past few years. Parental involvement is a major factor in the education of these children but if the head of the school is unwilling to deal with some of the issues that parents have, it is an act of futility on behalf of the parents to bring up problematic issues. My parents have been up to the school a couple of times to speak with the Principal Dr. 'D' about some problems going on but she never seems to have time and tries to avoid addressing the issue by sneaking out the back door. Need new Principal!!!

Bear Creek Middle School is the best school I've ever attended. Even though they do have strict dicipline (which I hate) being in school for me is alot of fun! Learning with your friends is fun. I'm an African American and not many people would actually hear these kind of things from many black students. Most parents would say that this is a horrible school because we have too many fights here, but in the year of 04'-05' the fighting rate has decreased. So Bear Creek really isn't all that bad.

My child attends Bear Creek Middle, this is her 2nd year there. For the most part the school is a good school. I believe with the full participation of the parents in all areas this will benefit the school, teachers, parents and students. All schools have problems but it's up to us as parents to make sure our children are well behaved. It starts in the home. This year I believe will be better than last year.

I agree the children are unruly. This is due to the overwhelming lack of parental support and how they do not value their child's eduaction. It all starts at home. The curriculum is what it is. It is up to the individual teacher to spice it up and make it more challenging. Problematic behavior is due to the lack of follow through on all fronts. You receive what you give. There should be no complaints, if there is not parental support. I challenge all of you to sit in your child's class and see how hard these teachers work. I have a child here and have done just that. You would not believe how your child leaves the house as your little angel, then comes to school spewing foul language and displaying disrespectful behavior. Look at the forest, not the trees.

Currently, I have two sons attending Bear Creek . One is in the sixth and the seventh grade. Overall this year, being our first year here has been fine. With anything that one participates in there will be some negatives but there will be exceptional positives that overway the negatives. The seventh grade team 7J which my son is assigned to is very encouraging, motivating and very diligent in teaching my son and other kids. My sixth grader home teacher, Ms. Broden is an excellent teacher and for the most part she is like a mommy. Both of my kids are learning and are enjoying their school and their teachers. Remember, us parents can make things turn around in schools with just our appearance and our voices. I am at the school at least three days per week, not because of trouble but for support of both sons and teachers.

Bear Creek is terrible and if you have children considering going there, I urge you to forget it. The students are unruly, undisciplined and foul mouthed. The bathroom walls are constantly having to be repainted due to the profanities written on them. There are not enough books to go around due to profanities written in the books. Students will take books home and then not return them. There is no guidance at this school, no discipline either. Students are rowdy on the buses as well. I am a parent of a Bear Creek student so I see this on a day by day basis.

Bear Creek Middle School expectations are very low, therefore, there students are not rising to the occasion because the teachers don't think they can. Also, there curriculum is not challenging enough and does not prepare students for the next grade. They also need to showcase their students more as far as chorus, band, etc. so students can take pride in the school.

Hey i had some excellent meomries there and I hope other students do to. I think you for preparing me for life ahead of me.

I really liked staff members and teachers. My child felt really really safe except he had a slight problem in his eighth grade year. but other than that the school is excellent and #1 middle school in fulton county!
