Tubman Elementary School Reviews

I thought harriet tubman was an excellent school. My daughter came from a Clayton County School. She was so far behind when she transfered to Tubman that the teacher thought she would have to be retained. Fortunatly her teacher(Mrs. Ealy) worked with her and sent extra work home to get her back on track and she was not retained. They have excellent teachers at Harriet Tubman. I would really recommend this school to others.

The school is clean and seems to be very safe. The secretary usually has a pleasant greeting and smile. The teachers really expect a lot from the students and want them to do their best. The negative things about it is the low parent involvement, low social activities and the reading program is boring. You will have to practice with them lots of extra reading and writing at home. The reading program in the early grades is not really conventional and my 1st grader just was not interested. If you are considering it, get involved in the school.

Excellent teachers! A Georgia school of Excellence and a Title I School of Distinction. The academic programs goes beyond what is reqired by the state and county. Students have have music, art, and PE weekly. 4th through 5th graders have a choice between general music, band, and orchrestra. They can also join the chorus. 4th through 5th grade basketball team that plays the teachers at the end of the year. Clubs include: Beta Club, Student Council, Glitter Girls dance group, Art Club, and Cheerleaders. The only negative thing I can say about the school is that they have a high student transition rate and the parent involvement is low. The school is excelling regardless of parent involvement and student transition rate.
