Turner Middle School Reviews

The bottom line for many problems at the school including discipline--unruly and vulgar students has to do with poor leadership. The administration is rarely seen in the halls when the 8th graders are passing to and from classes and acting like wild people.

I think that Turner Middle School is just as good and just as bad as any other middle school near by. The teachers are doing the best job they can and most of them have incredibley nice relationships with the students. I have teachers that will help me with anything wether it be a conflict with another teacher or student, or just homework. The music program is the best around. The band of Turner will exceed your expectations. The chorus is very talented. The students involved are very hard-working and successful in what they strive to achieve. Parents are very involved with their children and children's teachers. I am glad that I have had the opportunity to go to such a diverse school such as Turner and I hope my last year is my best.

I graduated from this school two years ago and I believe it has been judged harshly in other reviews. When I moved to TMS, I came from being a home-schooler, and the staff and faculty made the transition easy. I met teachers who cared about the children they were teaching. To say that teachers are just in it for the paychecks is an incorrect accusation because that paycheck is almost non-existent. The teachers do the best they can with what they are given. Yes, it could use some improvements, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

TMS has become a joke and any parent out there concerned about your child education needs to remove your child from that school. The teachers do not care they are only there for a paycheck. They are accusing the kids of being in gangs because of the recent incident at the mall. They talk to the children with very disrespectful vulgar language. The children are not learning, if the parents have to re-teach them when they get home from school. There need to be some investigation into the overall progress at TMS, which is nothing. I have already removed my children and dont plan to send them back to a Douglas County public school

This school is awful. The students show no respect. My child will not be returning to this school next year.
