Morrow Middle School Reviews

Last Year at Morrow Middle! My year at Morrow Middle was a challange I went throught 6th- 8th grade. I would say at the beginning of 6th grade that they were nice and Ms. Moore/ Mc Bride was a inspiring teacher and as for Ms. Sheilds was a fun teacher to be taught by. The last year of morrow middle I had a great number of teachers to push me to understand that high school is not easy. I also passed the CRCT with flying colors! So thank you Morrow Middle to help me in high school. I am in the 9th grade & taking all honer classes!

This is my daughter's first year at MMS and she hasn't had many problems at all. She has been doing really good and I believe this stems from our dedication at home and the teachers that really care at school. There aren't many teachers or other authorities that really care about our children. I believe that Mrs.Moore-McBride is a wonderful teacher that really cares about our children and does above and beyond for them. We need more people like her teaching our children. We all have to work together and do whatever it takes to help our children to learn and love in all areas of life.

This is not a safe place to send your children to school. The bulling is out of hand and I had to take my son out of there! The teachers just sit by and watch bad kids tear the good ones down. Please someone do something!

This was my daughter's first year at Morrow Middle, and sadly enough her last! This past year was horrible. Unless you demand respect from certain kids, then chances are you're not going to get it.

Morrow Middle School is a good school with an excellent teaching staff. However, the administration at this school is very weak. Teachers can not teach classes to the best of their ability because they have to deal with discipline problems that administration do not handle. There is no support for the teachers by the administration and at several times administrators side with the students and pick and chose which students they want to discipline. Also this such lacks an PTA as well as parental involvement. Also I have failed to understand have several students can fail all of the academic classes and play sports. It does not make any sense to me. In order for Morrow Middle School to become a Great School the entire adminstration needs to be changed.

I have a son at here and must admit that it was not as bad as I thought it would be. There are some teachers that are not at all interested in the students. We must remember it starts at home. PARENTS start being parents and stop trying to be FRIEINDS with your children. One of my main concern is the lack of any adult supervision in the afternoons across the street at the church parking lot. This is something that really has to be addressed this up coming school term. I give praise to Ms. Cooper and the others who have stuck it out for the long haul and continued to stay at the school while others have bailed out to Henry county.

The administration is excellent, but the teachers are not professional. This school has a bad discipline problem. My child gets picked on everyday, and she tells the teacher, and nothing is done about it. This school needs help in this department.

I am not impressed with this school. It is not a safe environment because the students run the school. If a parent does not agree with a punishment for their child, they simply call the school, and it will be reversed. That is not fair to anyone involved, especially the student in the long run. As an educator, I am sad to say that control of the schools is no longer where it should be. It is now in the hands of the students, and at Morrow Middle School it will continue to stay there until we get some new administration.

This school has come a long way since i have been associated with it. Parent involvement and committment is the worst problem they are trying to overcome. They are not perfect, but they try to work with parents and students. Father of 2 boys.

I agree with the parents who stated that there are teachers there for the wrong reasons, children are not allowed to be children; also the teachers do not grade or teach students correctly. There is no positive reinforcement from the teachers. My child has been subjected to assault and discrimination. I do not reccomend this school.

This school's biggest problem is lack of parental involvement. The teachers are doing the best they can in trying to teach the kids. They are not there to teach the kids manners. The parents should have done that long ago. Parents can't blame the teachers if their children are failing. After each progress report, the parents can request a conference with the teachers. When my son first started there, he didn't complete his assignments and didn't turn in his assignments. At the conference, his teachers and I put together a plan for him. His grades have been improving ever since. His teachers teach him during the day and I supervise him doing is homework at night.

Not a good quality school. Not all but a lot of the teachers there are there for the wrong reason. Teacher said some really bad things to my child and other students, tried to say hurtful things to her in front of other students. I had that happen quite a bit and because my child is a quiet child, not only do other kids pick on her, teachers do too. I taught my child to go to a teacher if she is being picked on, but they were no help, always told her to sit down and stop complaining or deal with it. I feel they don't protect the students there and don't make kids follow the rules, so the school is a bad environment for kids who are taught better and wants to learn. I am tired of apologies, do something about your school!

This is a very bad school. Teachers do not grade or teach students correctly. They pass them say there doing good. Then when your childs in 8th or 9th you wonder why their grades are know low, when all former grades they did well. Finally after trying every reward you have them tested. They're still 4th grade level, now 15 and 16 yrs old. This school allows you to think and make their grades appear to be passing. When in reality they're not learning. Bad school.

Apathy at its worse. Principal Curry is an example of why Clayton County schools are risking loosing their accreditation this year. He continues to side with parents and rebellious children instead of teachers who try hard to work with difficult situations. Avoid this school if at all possible.

I have 2 special ed children who attend this school. They are great teachers and they loving and caring to all children. I would recommend this school to everyone whether your child is in special ed or not.

I've had several problems with this school. These children are expected not to be children, where from my experience with them, they can use considerable help and should be watched closely. The children have hardly any extracurricular activies. I pray this year will be a much better year.
