Jonesboro High School Reviews

Jonesboro High School has some great students, parents, and faculty. The administration needs some backbone, but their hearts are in the right places. Student achievement is evident in the multitudes of community involvement and accomplishments throughout the various extra-curricular activities offered. The school does need to be kept clean.

The student that stated his/her oppinion about the school is correct. The school is not clean and the education is not like it used to be.

2007 National Mock Trial Champions, 2008 State Mock Trial Champions, Highest English Scores in Metro Atlanta, Award Winning Golf Teams, Award Winning Swim Teams, Jonesboro High School is a noteworthy school. There are many caring teachers on the faculty and dedicated administrators. As with many high schools, we could use more parental support. Our students recieve a quality education --especially if they take advantage of the myriad of opportunities at JHS.

The quality of academic programs is marginable. The good teachers are few and far between but they are there. The music and art programs are above average, they do have funding that is substantial for these programs. Sports are available and involving, although mostly losing records every year. The parents are not really involved at the level that would build a strong community based school. I would rate this school at a C+

My son graduated from Jonesboro in 2004 and my daughter currently attends Jonesboro. Clayton County schools have gotten a bad reputation but I am pleased with the educational and extracurricular activities at Jonesboro. I am begging the County to give more to the budget of the fine arts department. My son played high school baseball and my daughter is in the band. We have a wonderful program for both but our band needs money. The budget is too small to keep a level of excellence that Jonesboro is traditionally known for.

I am currently a student at JHS, and I am pleased with the way the principal is moving the school toward a higher academic level. He is also opening doors so that the students can get more envolved in extra curricular activities. I think the students are becoming more excited about the school as a whole, and I am proud to be a Jonesboro Cardinal.

JHS is one of the better school in Clatyon County. Clayton County Schools needs help.

It's turning into a awful school just like the rest of the county already has. Way overpopulated, I asked my classmates in each class where they live, and almost half are way out of district. The school system today...Given that, still the best school in the county. Good Fine Arts department.

I currently attend JHS, and I like it a lot. (way more than my other school). I know I can exceed the 'general level' that other students set. Overall it's an okay school.

I am currently a student at JHS. The teachers are great, can't say the same for the students. Many think they are all that. They give off negative vibes. Most students are horrible and slackers.

My son is a senior at Jonesboro High School this year 2004. I have been very pleased with the the way things have been so far. I think that if kids have parental support and surround themselves with good kids, then you can expect good results.

Both of my children graduated from JHS (2000 and 2002). It is better than the statistics might imply. Kids will get out of school what they put into it. Unfortunately, the slackers tend to pull down the good students rather than the good students pulling up the slackers. Both of my kids are now in college and doing very well (Dean's List), but in hindsight I should have put them in a good private school.

I am very happy with the school. I have had 2 students graduate and go to college and did very well there also. They received the background needed to succeed in college. I still have children there and am still pleased with the school.

Our son is graduating this year. We have been very pleased with Jonesboro, the last couple of years more so than his 9th and 10th grade years.
